Introducing the TALOMOLA Initiative – A New Beginning for Young Mothers
TALOMOLA Initiative: Hope, Help, and a Future Worth Living
The Peter Akinola Foundation is proud to introduce the TALOMOLA Initiative, a life-changing initiative designed to provide support, protection, and hope for young girls and women facing unexpected pregnancies.
Many young people who become pregnant unexpectedly experience fear, rejection, isolation, and uncertainty. Some are abandoned by family members, stigmatized by society, or pressured into making decisions without proper guidance and support. At such a vulnerable time, they need understanding, compassion, and practical assistance—not condemnation.
The TALOMOLA Initiative (Project) was established to respond to these challenges by creating a safe and supportive environment where young mothers and expectant mothers can find help, healing, and encouragement. The project is anchored on the belief that every life matters and that every young woman deserves an opportunity to rebuild her future with dignity and hope.
With the approval of the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs, the project provides a comprehensive support system that addresses the emotional, physical, social, and economic needs of vulnerable young women.
What TALOMOLA Offers
The Initiative provides:
- Safe Harbour and Nutritional Support for young mothers who need shelter and care.
- Pastoral Reconciliation with Families to help restore broken relationships and encourage family acceptance.
- Emotional and Psychological Support to help victims overcome trauma, shame, fear, and depression.
- Medical Care and Prenatal Check-ups to ensure the health and well-being of both mother and child.
- Legal Support (when necessary) for cases involving abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other legal concerns.
- Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Training to equip beneficiaries with practical skills for financial independence.
The TALOMOLA Initiative recognizes that an unexpected pregnancy does not mean the end of a person’s dreams. Rather, it can be the beginning of a new journey when accompanied by the right support network.
A Message to Every Young Woman
If you are experiencing an unexpected pregnancy and feel overwhelmed, know that you are not alone. There is hope. There is help. There are people who care about your future and are willing to walk with you every step of the way.
The TALOMOLA Project exists to remind every young mother that she matters, her child matters, and her future matters.
At the Peter Akinola Foundation, we believe that no young woman should have to face this journey alone. Through compassion, guidance, and empowerment, we are committed to helping young mothers rediscover purpose, confidence, and opportunity.
There is hope. There is help. There is TALOMOLA.
